September 2019 Prayer Guide

Sun 1-  Please pray for Nancy Ochiel who has had some health issues.  Pray for her and her husband Peter, founder and director of Action Ministries in Kenya, as they seek medical treatment for Nancy. 

Mon 2- Please pray for the DRC as new government officials have been announced after months of negotiations.  Pray that the new government would work together and seek God in their work to create security across the country.

Tue 3- Praise God for good news from Sudan where, for the first time in history, the government has given freedom of worship to Christians!  Believers now have the opportunity to share Christ openly without fear of persecution. Also for the first time in history, a Christian woman has been appointed to the cabinet. Please pray with Country Director Tito Oturo for this open door for ministry among Muslims in Sudan. 

Wed 4- Please pray for our Country Director, Asrat Gizaw, as he continues to serve the teachers and students who are part of our theological education program in Ethiopia.  Pray for the many new students who will enter the program this quarter!  

Thu 5- Please pray miraculous healing for Pastor Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi, as he is being treated for cancer.  We praise God for a good report from the doctors last month!!

Fri 6- Please pray for Denis Hangi, Country Director for DRC, as he travels to Beni for the graduation ceremony of a class made up of military men & women. 

Sat 7- Praise God for our Board of Directors who generously invest in this ministry with their time, talent, and treasures! 

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one – as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” John 17:20-21 NLT

Sun 8- Praise God for our Mocha Club members who commit to further the work of African Leadership by giving up the cost of a few mochas a month.

Mon 9- Please pray for Tito Oturo, Country Director for Sudan & South Sudan, as he leads classes that are facing many emerging complex needs in the churches, community and refugee camps. 

Tue 10- Please pray for divine protection of mind, body and soul particularly for the students but also for the staff and parents of New Dawn Educational Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. Pray for the 30 students who are preparing for national examinations in November. 

Wed 11- Please pray for good health for Jonathan Titus-Williams, Country Director in Sierra Leone. Pray for him as he continues to lead our program throughout Sierra Leone.

Thu 12- Please pray wisdom & power for Allan Knowles, Country Director for South Africa, as he is preaching at a missions conference this weekend & also teaching a week long workshop on sermon preparation.

Fri 13- Please pray for the children and volunteers at the Flame of Love orphanage in Goma, Congo. Pray the Lord provides their every need. Please continue to pray for Sister Alvera as she has returned from Italy where she was being treated for cancer.  Pray continued healing & health for her! 

Sat 14- Please pray traveling mercies for Tito Oturo, Country Director for Sudan & South Sudan, as he visits the U.S. this week.

Sun 15- Pray for continued peace and stability in Malawi. Over the past few months, there have been weekly protests in the streets following the elections which many believe were mismanaged by the electoral commission. 

Mon 16- Pray for Geoffrey Ocan, Country Director for Uganda, as he serves the individuals involved in our theological education program there. Pray for Geoffrey's time with the teachers and students as they learn about trauma.

Tue 17- Please pray God's favor upon today's 7th Annual Spread The Word Golf Tournament.  Pray for good weather, a great turnout and for success in raising the funds needed to equip new students in our theological education program with Study Bibles and curriculum.

Wed 18- Please pray with Denis Hangi for his province in North Kivu, Congo, that God would stop the Ebola epidemic that is causing the death of many people there.

Thu 19- Please pray for the ongoing community development classes in Malawi, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda. Pray that the passion and dreams which these students have for the transformation of their communities should be fulfilled.

Fri 20- Pray for the completion of the guest house and for the expansion of Baraka Academy, both part of Action Ministries in Eastern Kenya. Pray also as Peter Ochiel and his staff seek God's guidance on plans for building a High School.

Sat 21- Please pray for the spouses and families of our partners in Africa. May they know God's presence and peace, protection and provision.

"I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me." Romans 15:30 NIV

Sun 22- Please pray for the students who are part of our theological education program, that they will grow spiritually and in the knowledge of God's Word so that they may be agents of change in their churches and communities.  

Mon 23- Pray for Peter & Nancy Ochiel, their family and the staff who continue to serve the community in Eastern Kenya through Action Ministry.  Pray for all the residents of Blessed Camp, especially those who do not know the LORD, that they would give their lives to Jesus. 

Tue 24- Pray for the counselors and pastors in and around Goma, Congo who are leading more than 900 children in weekly trauma-healing small groups. 

Wed 25- We praise God for the life of Leonard Chipangano who celebrates his birthday today!  Please pray with Leonard, Country Director for Malawi, for the graduates of our theological education program, that their ministries should have a big impact in the lives of people they serve in their communities.

Thu 26- Pray for the Women at Risk program in Ethiopia. Pray for Nebiyou and his team as they lead the women through the program. Pray courage for the ladies in the program as they learn of the life they are offered in the Lord. 

Fri 27- Please pray for our Country Directors and their Boards as they prepare their strategic plans & budgets for 2020.

Sat 28- Please pray for our team as we plan this year's Spread The Word Dinner at the Grove for Thursday, October 24.  

Sun 29- Please pray for the local Board of Directors in Rwanda as they work diligently to obtain their registration with the government. Requirements for non-profit organizations to register are more here than in other countries. Please pray that the government will be favorable. 

Mon 30- Please pray for our US staff as we seek God's continued guidance as we serve Him through this ministry.
