August 2019 Prayer Guide
"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God."

Thu 1- Please continue to pray for Emily Blackledge, President of African Leadership, her husband Rob and their son Fletcher as they continue to settle into their new routine with newborn twins!
Fri 2- Please pray with Denis Hangi for his province in North Kivu, Congo, that God would stop the Ebola epidemic that is causing the death of many people there. Pray also that the government would take control of the country from the militia and rebels who are invading different parts of the country. Pray courage and protection for his teachers and their students in these areas.
Sat 3- Praise God for safe travels for staff member Bill Sullivan, Board member Duane Murray and South Sudanese Country Director Tito Oturo who visited Rwanda last month. Praise God for the successful meetings and plans put in place with the Board of Directors there!
Sun 4- Please pray for our Country Director, Asrat Gizaw, as he continues to serve the teachers and students who are part of our theological education program in Ethiopia. Pray for many new students that are about to enter the program this quarter!
Mon 5- Please pray miraculous healing for Pastor Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi, as he is being treated for cancer and is having scans today to determine the effectiveness of his treatment. Join Mezack in praising God and hoping for clear scans!
Tue 6- Praise God for moderate peace in South Sudan at the moment as the government and opposition are agreeing to implement a peace agreement. Continue to pray for peace for this new country!
Wed 7- Please pray with Tito Oturo, Country Director for South Sudan, as he and his team prepare for this month's graduation of the theological education class in the Kiryandongo refugee camp in Uganda.

Thu 8- Pray for Leonard Chipangano, Country Director for Malawi as he continues to serve the teachers and students of our theological education program there. Join Leonard in praying for greater passion for those who are participating in the program. Pray also for African Leadership Malawi to raise funds that will be matched by a US donor for the purchase of a vehicle.
Fri 9- Pray for the men and women living in South Sudanese refugee camps in Uganda who want to join our theological education program. Please pray for the resources needed to print the curriculum so these eager students may begin the classes.
Sat 10- Please pray for divine protection of mind, body and soul particularly for the students but also for the staff and parents of New Dawn Educational Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
Sun 11- Please pray for the trauma-healing workshop being held in Kisangani, DRC this week. Pray also for a graduating class of military leaders in Beni, that they will use their education and influence for peace.
Mon 12- Please pray for Allan Knowles, Country Director for South Africa, as he continues to teach and mentor the students who are part of our theological education program there. Allan has a desire to help weak churches as he sees many leaders with no basic Biblical training. Please pray the Lord intervenes as he recruits these church leaders to join the theological education program.
Tue 13- Praise God for our Board of Directors who generously invest in this ministry with their time, talent, and treasures!
Wed 14- Please pray for the children and volunteers at the Flame of Love orphanage in Goma, Congo. Pray the Lord provides their every need. Please continue to pray for Sister Alvera as she has returned from Italy where she was being treated for cancer. Pray continued health for her!

Thu 15- Please pray for the local Board of Directors in Rwanda as they have been working diligently to obtain their registration with the government. Requirements for non profit organizations to register are more here than in other countries. Please pray that the government will be favorable.
Fri 16- Pray for Geoffrey Ocan, Country Director for Uganda as he begins lay trauma teacher trainings this month. Pray that his teachers are receptive and the workshops are an opportunity to heal themselves as they learn how to help others.
Sat 17- Please pray for the spouses and families of our partners in Africa. May they know God's presence and peace, protection and provision.
Sun 18- Pray for success in the growth of the New Dawn Mentorship Ltd. (formerly New Dawn Children’s Abstinence Program). This program aspires to expand its operation in ways that will generate income that would provide financial subsidy for the operations of the New Dawn Educational Centre.
Mon 19- Please pray for the ongoing community development classes in Malawi, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda.
Tue 20- Pray for the completion of the guest house and for the expansion of Baraka Academy, both part of Action Ministries in Eastern Kenya. Pray also as Peter Ochiel and his staff seek God's guidance on plans for building a High School.
Wed 21- Pray for the counselors and pastors in and around Goma, Congo who are leading more than 900 children in weekly trauma-healing small groups.

Thu 22- Please pray God's favor upon the 7th Annual Spread The Word Golf Tournament which will take place on September 17. Pray for good weather, a great turnout and for success in raising the funds needed to equip new students in our theological education program with Study Bibles and curriculum.
Fri 23- Pray for Peter & Nancy Ochiel, their family and the staff who continue to serve the community in Eastern Kenya through Action Ministry. Pray for all the residents of Blessed Camp, especially those who do not know the LORD, that they would give their lives to Jesus.
Sat 24- Please pray for each worship service throughout Africa being led by a graduate of our theologial education program! Praise God for the knowledge received and being shared through the men and women God has called to His service!
Sun 25- Please pray for our US staff as we seek God's continued guidance as we serve Him through this ministry.
Mon 26- Pray for the Women at Risk program in Ethiopia. Twenty of the ladies just started their counseling sessions in July. Please pray for courage as they continue to tell their stories and learn of the life they are offered in the Lord.
Tue 27- Please pray for the completion of the new church building in Kigali, Rwanda. Pray for the funding of the sound proofing and the parking lot which are all that is left to complete for occupancy.
Wed 28- Please pray for the students who are part of our theological education program, that they will grow spiritually and in the knowledge of God's Word so that they may be agents of change in their churches and communities.
Thu 29- Please pray for good health for Jonathan Titus-Williams, Country Director in Sierra Leone. Pray for him as he continues to lead our program throughout Sierra Leone.
Fri 30- Please pray for the 30 students of New Dawn Educational Centre in Nairobi, Kenya who are preparing for National examinations in November.
Sat 31- Praise God for our impact partner, The Mocha Club, and the influencers who share our work in Africa with their audiences. Please pray for God to increase our Mocha Club Membership so that we can continue to support our partners throughout Africa.
